Case Study 1: Fatal Collision at Toll Gate, A truck driver from Jamshedpur, India, preferred driving at night to avoid daytime traffic congestion. However, one night, while driving around 3 am, he failed to anticipate an over-dimensional trailer standing at a toll gate and collided with it, resulting in a fatal accident.
Case Study 2: Coach Accident on Narrow Bridge, A night coach bus driver was plying the bus on the road when he approached a narrow bridge around 3 am. A buffalo was sleeping on the road. Due to the lack of visibility and the colour of the buffalo, the driver failed to recognize the animal’s presence on the road; in the meantime, the driver steered to the left side to avoid it, causing the BUS to fall into the river, resulting in the loss of all passengers’ lives, including the drivers.
Case Study 3: Biker Collides with Parked Tractor, A motorcyclist, along with one colleague, attended a friend’s wedding and, after enjoying the marriage party, began his journey home around 12:20 am. Travelling at a higher speed than usual due to personal caution and attending the office the next day, he failed to anticipate a parked tractor on the roadside colliding with a rear end, resulting in a fatal accident for both Rider and Pillion.
